Otis Comes to Charlevoix!

New York Times #1 Bestselling author Loren Long visited Charlevoix Elementary School today during two assemblies! Mr. Long writes and illustrates the Otis series, which features a very friendly tractor.

With the third through sixth grade students he discussed his inspirations, processes, and how every picture and every story starts with a blank page. With the kindergarten through second grades he showed how Snoopy and the Sunday comics inspired him to draw. Both groups got to hear Mr. Long read his latest story Otis and the Scarecrow, which he acted out with some very helpful volunteers. Mr. Long also drew a picture of Otis with each group.
