"C" Your Future with iPads @ Charlevoix Public Schools!

For over a year, teachers from the elementary, middle, and high schools have been researching innovative best practices in teaching and learning. The Innovate Task Force is very excited about implementing best practices such as Project Based Learning and Flipped Classrooms in combination with one-to-one learning with iPads. Teachers attended voluntary summer professional development to learn about these innovative practices and each received an iPad for the summer to continue their learning.

After initially piloting iPads in special education classrooms during the last school year and great success using iPads with students for summer school, the district has decided to pilot iPads for one grade level in each building this fall. Actively enrolled students in third, sixth, and tenth grades will each receive an iPad to use during the school year.

Parents and students in grades 3, 6, and 10 are asked to attend a roll out date where they will learn protocols and expectations for student use of the new device. Families who have students in multiple grades only need to attend one session. The roll out dates are:

• Wednesday, Oct. 24, Charlevoix High School, 6 p.m. 
• Thursday, Oct. 25, Charlevoix Middle School, 6 p.m. 
• Monday, Nov. 12, Charlevoix Elementary School, 6 p.m.
